Five ways to experience winter in northern Lapland. Every tour is planned around the weather, the conditions and the group.
Ice fishing trips
The morning starts with a snowmobile ride to a remote fell lake. The auger bites into the ice, crystal-clear water appears in the hole, and on the live camera you see the fish approach your jig. During the day a fire burns in a sled-mounted fire pit. On the fell lakes your catch may include Arctic char and grayling, and fresh fish is filleted right there on the ice. The destination is chosen by conditions: the Käsivarsi fell lakes near Kilpisjärvi or the Sevettijärvi–Näätämö wilderness in northern Inari.
Northern lights tours
At dusk we ride away from village lights to an open spot where the whole sky opens up. Then we wait – quietly, under the stars.
Wilderness trips
Instead of carrying a backpack and pulling a pulk for dozens of kilometres, you go straight to where the real adventure begins.
Overnight trips
Camp is set up where the only sounds are the wind and the crackle of the stove. The Nortent Gamme 8 is a Norwegian tent inspired by the Sámi turf hut – it withstands a fell storm, and it's warm inside even when the frost bites outside.
